OR helps you think through a choice between two options by answering a short series of yes/no questions. OR does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no AI services, no cloud sync and no server. The app works offline and does not send anything over the internet.
This policy explains what the app keeps on your device and why.
What stays on your device
OR saves these things on your iPhone or iPad only:
- Your decisions: the two option names you enter, the questions you were asked, your yes/no answers and the resulting summary. These are kept so the app can finish the decision, show your decision history and pick up an unfinished decision where you left off.
- An unfinished decision: if you leave in the middle of a decision, its current state is saved so you can resume it. It is cleared when the decision is finished or discarded.
- Calibration events: a small local log that helps us test how well the questions work. See below.
This data never leaves your device. OR does not send your decisions or calibration events anywhere.
Calibration events
When it’s used: When you start a decision, answer a question and finish a decision.
What happens to the data: Each event is saved on your device and may include a random session identifier (created fresh for each decision), the time, the question’s identifier, your answer, whether the question was about option A or option B, the question’s position in the session, how long you took to answer and, at the end, which side your answers leaned toward. Events do not include the names of your options or what your decision is about. They stay on your device and OR does not send them anywhere.
Permissions
OR does not ask for any permissions. It does not use your camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts or notifications.
Network access
OR is designed to work offline and does not need a network connection. It does not send your decisions, answers or calibration events over the internet.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your decision history, any unfinished decision and the calibration events stay on your device until you delete the app or erase the device. Deleting the OR app removes all of the data it has stored. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include OR’s data according to your backup settings, as with any app; we never see it.
Children
OR is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Third parties
OR contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising or tracking.
Changes
We may update this policy if OR’s data practices change. The new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
