HiMama is a pregnancy timeline and memory book for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes how the app handles the information you enter or choose to add. HiMama does not require an account and does not send your journey to a HiMama server. The app has no advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs.
Information you put in the app
You may enter:
- pregnancy dating information;
- how you’d like to be addressed;
- a baby nickname;
- your journey status;
- notes and milestones;
- photos;
- reminder preferences.
HiMama uses this information on your device to show your timeline, organise your memories, prepare sharing cards and a memory book, and schedule the reminders you turn on. Your journey and diary are stored on your device.
Permissions HiMama may ask for
HiMama only asks when you use a feature that needs it. You can change your mind at any time in Settings › HiMama.
Photos (you choose a photo)
When it’s used: When you add a photo from your library to a diary note.
What happens to the data: The system photo picker gives HiMama access only to the image you select. Imported photos are resized and re-encoded before they are stored on your device, which removes the original photo’s attached location and camera details.
Camera
When it’s used: If you choose to take a photo for a diary note.
What happens to the data: The app asks for camera access first. The photo is resized and re-encoded, like any imported photo, and stored on your device.
Notifications (optional)
When it’s used: If you turn on reminders and allow notifications.
What happens to the data: HiMama schedules the reminders on your device. You can turn reminders off in the app, or manage the permission in iOS Settings.
Sharing, links and backups
- Sharing is always your choice. HiMama does not share your journey automatically. If you choose to save or share a card or memory book, iOS shows you the available destinations. What you send is then handled by the destination you choose and its own privacy practices. Sharing cards let you decide whether to include details such as a due date or nickname.
- Links to other sites. The app includes optional links to external educational resources. Opening one takes you to that website, which may process information under its own privacy policy. HiMama does not open those sites in the background.
- Backups. Apple may include the app’s locally stored data in a device or iCloud backup, depending on your iOS settings. Apple’s own platform services, diagnostics and backups are covered by Apple’s privacy terms. Files you export to another app or service are managed there.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your information stays on your device until you edit or delete it, delete the journey or uninstall HiMama.
- To remove the journey and its notes and photos from this device, open You › More › Journey › Delete this journey. Once you delete the journey, the app cannot restore it.
- You can also delete individual notes.
- Copies in device backups or in files you exported may remain until you remove them through Apple or the service you sent them to.
Because HiMama has no account or server copy of your journey, there is no remote journey data to ask us for or to ask us to delete.
Children
HiMama is intended for adults recording their own pregnancy journey. It is not designed for children to use.
Changes
We may update this policy if the app’s features or data practices change. The new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
