Gloop is a slime toy. We built it so everything you make stays with you. Gloop does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal information. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases. The app does not send anything over the internet.
This policy explains exactly what the app uses on your device and why.
What stays on your device
Gloop saves these things on your iPhone or iPad only:
- The slimes you save and the one you last played with (their shape, colours, look and add-ins).
- Your settings: sound, vibration, tilt, tips and reminders.
- Your progress: stamps, trophies, recipes you’ve found and looks you’ve unlocked.
- Photo charms you make.
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it (see below). Deleting the app deletes all of it. If your device backs up to iCloud, Apple may include this data in your device backup, as with any app; we never see it.
Permissions Gloop may ask for
Gloop only asks when you use a feature that needs it. You can say no, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings › Gloop. Everything else in the app keeps working without these permissions.
Camera
When it’s used: AR “On your table” shows your slime on a real surface. Colour snap takes a photo to pick colours.
What happens to the data: The camera picture is processed live on your device and is not saved or sent anywhere. For Colour snap, only the colours are kept.
Photos (you choose one photo)
When it’s used: Photo charm turns a photo you pick into a charm.
What happens to the data: Apple’s photo picker only gives Gloop the photo you select. The subject is cut out on your device with Apple’s Vision framework (nothing is uploaded), and only the charm is kept in the app.
Add to Photos
When it’s used: When you tap Save Image or Save Video in the share sheet for an AR picture or a 10-second clip.
What happens to the data: iOS asks first. Gloop only adds the one item you chose and can’t see your library.
Microphone
When it’s used: Dance (the slime moves to music) and blowing on the mic to make bubbles.
What happens to the data: Sound is analysed live for loudness and beats. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent.
Motion
When it’s used: Tilt to slide: tilting your device makes the slime slide.
What happens to the data: Used live on your device only.
Notifications (optional)
When it’s used: Miss-you nudges, if you turn them on in Settings.
What happens to the data: These are local reminders scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
Sharing
Gloop only shares when you ask it to:
- Send to a friend, Save or Share: you choose where your slime picture, clip or slime file goes, using the standard iOS share sheet.
- With a friend (SharePlay): during a FaceTime call you start, finger positions and your slime’s recipe are sent to the people in that call so you can squish together. This goes through Apple’s SharePlay service and is not sent to us.
- Screen recording of clips: “Film 10 s” records the app’s screen and gives the clip to you. It is not uploaded.
Children
Gloop is designed to be safe for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, has no chat or messaging with strangers, and has no ads, links out or purchases.
Third parties
Gloop contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising or tracking. Some sounds are licensed CC0 recordings; that affects nothing about your data.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date. Because Gloop collects no data, a change could only ever be about new on-device features.
